Live updates: Alabama softball starts Women’s College World Series against Tennessee

It’s game time in Oklahoma City. Alabama softball has reached the Women’s College World Series for the 14th time and will open its quest to a title against a fellow Southeastern Conference school.

Five-seed Alabama (45-20) and coach Patrick Murphy will play against four-seed Tennessee (49-8) at USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium Thursday afternoon. The Lady Volunteers are 3-1 against the Tide this season and have yet to lose this postseason.

It’s going to be a battle between NFCA All-American Ashley Rogers and Alabama junior Jaala Torrence.

Top: Prange fouled off a few pitches, worked the count full and started Alabama’s day with a lead-off walk. Johnson then punched a single to right field and gave the Tide runners on the corners with nobody out.
